In 2012, the Atlantic Convenience Stores Association piloted Convenience Store Day in Halifax and Fredericton. The idea behind Convenience Store Day was to thank customers for their business and recognize the contributions of the many convenience store owners and operators throughout Atlantic Canada as small business owners, employers and community supporters.
Activities included inviting politicians and local celebrities to spend some time behind the counter greeting and serving customers. For every “shift” worked, a donation was made by the association to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Convenience Store Day was a great success and is being rolled out as a national campaign in 2013. Thank you customers. Thank you convenience store owners and operators.
