WILL NOVA SCOTIA BAN ALL FLAVOURED TOBACCO PRODUCTS?
The Nova Scotia government will introduce legislation this spring to ban the sale of some — and quite possibly all — flavoured tobacco products. That includes menthol cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos, pipe tobacco, non-tobacco chews…everything.
The government’s concern is products targeting underage kids. Flavoured kiddy mini or filtered cigars are the problem. But everything that is flavoured is now threatened.
C-store retailers are responsible retailers. A total ban will unfairly hurt our sales and create an even bigger tobacco black market in Nova Scotia.
